The journal Lifelong Learning in Europe
LLinE is unique in its concept in the adult education world. It moves
between research and fieldwork, focusing on both, reporting of interesting
results in both sections, and is thus useful to both. Its is internationally
praised for its contents.
We report of ‘exemplary practice’ and fresh research wherever we find
it, all over Europe, and beyond. This way new ideas, visions and solutions
spread their stimulating effect widely in the field.
The field we focus on is varied. It covers learning for work and learning
at work, higher education and liberal education, learning in and through
NGOs and in social connections. Everything is lifelong learning. Yet,
we concentrate mainly on adults learning.
In different parts of Europe adults’ learning has been solved in different
ways. Some countries can be proud of their wide participation in well-supported
adult and continuing education, while in some others people have taken
the initiative themselves and produced different learning opportunities
out of their own needs. We can see our own system in a new light when
reflected against some others.
This is the copy which shows to you what the LLinE looks like, how it
feels in your hand and what the things are that interest you in it. In
this issue we learn about learning, challenges, ways and assessment.
The LLinE is valuable to read, to give as a present, to work with. But
only if you have it. Read the cover texts, what is your LLinE?
Draw the LLinE for yourself!
